Raw Motorsport boss, Rob Wheldon took two outright wins in the Sports Prototype Cup at Donington on Sunday, driving the Revolution in difficult conditions as rain showers brought experience, driving skill and the Revolution’s handling qualities to the fore.
‘The Revolution is very good in the wet,’ Rob said at the end if the meeting. ‘It’s a car that inspires confidence and when conditions are like this, you can really exploit it. I’ve been involved in the development programme through the winter and it’s very rewarding to now win races in it.’
In a dry qualifying session late on Saturday afternoon, Wheldon had planted his yellow and black Revolution firmly on the front row in this multi-marque championship, and then took the lead at the start of race one, which also began in the dry. Over the first few laps that lead was extended to around four seconds over James Abbott in his Revolution, as [...]

With full production cars now available, the first customers were able to get the full Revolution experience at RMA’s track day at Silverstone this week.
After a winter of testing development prototypes in the UK and around Europe, the first batch of excited customers joined the Revolution team at the home of the British GP, to try this stunning new car before deliveries begin ahead of the opening round of the Sports Prototype Cup.
Everyone was blown away by the dramatic lines styled by Simon Cox and crafted by Pete Watts, before being thrilled by its performance and drivability on track. The Revolution is bristling with cutting-edge technology.
Many headlines have already been written about its visually spectacular, high-downforce body, and the technology used in creating a carbon-tub that is both energy and time efficient in its production.
A lot has already been said about this being the first sports racer with a carbon tub that has a sub-£100k price tag, but perhaps less so about the class-leading safety, the quality of the components and the fit and finish, or the technology available to the driver via a bespoke steering wheel that allows the driver to control every aspect of car’s operation, while being able to monitor all performance parameters from the easy-to-read central screen.
The driver is the heart of this car, from the initial concept The Revolution [...]
Following on from UK testing through November and December, the Revolution development team relocated to southern Portugal ensuring the exhaustive, high-quality testing could continue throughout the worst of the winter months.
AIA Portimao not only has the weather, but it also happens to be one of the most challenging racetracks anywhere in Europe, making it the perfect destination to validate aero performance and component reliability.
Over five days the Revolution prototype completed over 2000km in the hands of test drivers James Abbott and Rob Wheldon, with both able to enjoy clocking faster lap times than all the main competitors.
“We brought a number of updates here following our UK testing, and all of them gave us more performance,” said James Abbott after the test. “Portimao is a tough test for any car, particularly the high-speed stuff and the car performed brilliantly. It’s got the speed and just as importantly the balance and driveability we were after. All that [...]
